Announces
True Proportional Injectors
Chemigation Systems
International today announced a new proportional injector which it claims will
revolutionize proportional injection in the golf course, greenhouse and horticulture
industries. The injector introduces fertilizer or chemicals into irrigation lines at a
constant ratio to water volume, following changes in water flow rate.
According to CSI's media coordinator, "Golf
course irrigation professionals, nursery managers and greenhouse horticulturists will be
especially interested in these injection systems. Other companies have offered
proportional injection in the past, but their systems have invariably been either very
costly or simply not well-designed for the challenges faced by the green industries."

"Our engineering staff has
developed control algorithms which allow CSI's extremely reliable and easy-to-use pumped
venturi injector to be controlled by a small, on-board computer. These systems
feature closed loop control: electronic flowmeters measure all liquid flows and the
computer adjusts injection rate to precisely satisfy the required ratio setting. The
closed loop control strategy is more accurate than open-loop control designs used by other
manufacturers. CSI's proportional injectors also avoid problems like high
maintenance requirements, design complexity and poor reliability which have plagued other
manufacturers' designs that use piston or diaphragm pumps."
"CSI offers true proportional injection
systems in electric powered versions for fixed installations and engine powered versions
for mobile installations."
"We expect the obvious cost advantages and
technological superiority of this product to revolutionize the way proportional injection
is done in the green industries."
